This post is away from my goal of this blog-to talk about my travel adventures, but I guess when something is yours you can use it how you see fit. For this one I don’t really have travel stories or even a bunch of pictures I have taken. Instead I would like to use my platform to help promote the new Patreon endeavor, up-and-coming Nashville producer, Steven Martinez will be starting soon. If you read my previous blog about the Home Free Dive Bar Saints listening party, you saw me mention him and his connection to the Guys.

I became familiar with Steven about a year and a half ago through Austin and it is exciting to see the Home Free Home Fries start to pick up on this incredible talent as well. I had the pleasure of meeting Steven this past spring in Tennessee but prior to that talked to Austin about him on several occasions. I knew he was something special when Austin would speak about him with such excitement and respect. One thing that stands out to me is him telling me more than once that Steven is going to make it big in Nashville as a producer. It was nice catching up with him again on my most recent trip to Nashville where other Home Free Patrons were also able to meet him during the DBS listening party.

For those who may not be at all familiar with Steven’s work, along with producing, he is also a very talented musician. To accompany his smooth, sweet vocals he also plays the guitar (self-taught at 13 nonetheless), and drums, bass, and piano to name a few. Steven attended Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA and eventually fell in love with country music finding his way to Nashville in January of 2018. Since residing in Nashville, Steven has been writing and producing with a number of up-and-coming acts and produced a song called “Ride” in the Netflix film Walk. Ride. Rodeo.

And again, not to forget his recent work with Home Free. Steven helped Austin write two tracks on the new Dive Bar Saints album, dropping July 26th, called “Lonely Girl’s World” (with additional writing from Ava Suppelsa) and “Love Me Like That” (with additional writing from Jeffrey East). After hearing these songs, there is no doubt in my mind both of these songs will be fan favorites once they are released!

In addition to producing and writing for other artists, Steven has also produced and recorded his own music, both covers and originals. In August of 2017, Steven released his album of five originals titled “Lucky”. Referring to the album, he said, “I hope that "Lucky" is a moment of relief, songs to sing, and a reminder of the beautiful gift of life- and a reminder to enjoy the little things in it.” I purchased this album last year and can tell you he was correct in that hope. He has also covered songs from many artists including Dan + Shay, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Jon Pardi, Cam, and two of my favorite tracks, “May We All” and “Dirt” by Florida Georgia Line. I encourage you all to check his out his music at: https://soundcloud.com/stevenmartinezmusic and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbE3yedIoyXh_yYPlUx3z0w.

So anyway, my point in helping you get to know Steven a little better is to inspire you to support him on Patreon. Steven is looking to launch his Patreon campaign Monday, September 30th! And I hope you are all there to contribute and receive incredible perks while doing so. I don’t think you will be disappointed in what he is planning to offer. As a producer, he will be diving into how he creates covers in the "making of" style videos-a step into the producer's chair a bit, going through the recording of all the instruments, vocals, background vocals, etc. He may also include some of his originals. Also, you never know what familiar faces may pop up in his videos!
Follow Steven on Instagram at stevenmartinezmusic to keep up-to-date with him through his Instastories. Also, I am sure Austin will be putting in a plug for him as well, so also stay tuned to him on social media. And if you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, I too will help spread the word when his campaign is live and ready for Patrons to support him!

Seriously, this guy is going places and you don’t want to miss the journey!

If you are not familiar with Patreon, it is a crowdfunding membership platform for artists to get paid for creating videos, songs, art, etc. Fans pay as little as $1, in some cases, per month OR per post an artist releases.
