Tim Foust and Friends 4th Annual Birthday Bash

Hi. I’m Sarah. I have an addiction to writing really wordy blogs. I swear, I say this time it’s about the pictures. Really, just give them the pictures. FFS Sarah, just pictures this time. So for Tim’s Birthday Bash I came up with a Top 5 list of best moments. But I am a word addict. Sooo…I give you this somewhat lengthy, non-list blog. BUT there are also many pictures included, so I hope you enjoy!

(on mobile, click on pics to enlarge them!)

The 4th Annual Tim Foust Birthday Bash proved once again that Nashville’s City Winery is the place to be, despite the disaster I probably shouldn’t mention. But of course I have to mention it, because what kind of parent would I be if I didn’t let you know my daughter nearly burnt the place down by getting her napkin just a little too close to the open-flame candle on the table. Ok, truth be told, it was a minor fire that my quick glass of water tossing actions swiftly solved, regardless of others at the table blowing on the fire causing it to grow. I was like “look geniuses, water right here in front of you!”...and proceeded to splash it all over the burning napkin and the unfortunate pita bread on another guest’s plate. But don’t worry about her soggy bread; she said it was a little hard anyway, so the water actually solved that issue too. Whew. Pita and fire crisis averted.

Prior to the fire incident VIP goers were treated to Q&A time and pictures with Tim followed by the beautiful song “Smile”. There are a few videos of this out on YouTube other fans have posted and highly suggest you check it out. A very sweet, emotional song that I hope makes more appearances for fans to enjoy.

Following VIP, guests were treated to a talented group of musicians, including the birthday guy himself. He kicked things off getting the audience laughing with his “look I’m famous” tales and during his popular “Storytime with Tim” shared a humorous barnacle penis story. This story, originating at a spring show with an interpreter, has since been repeated at other concerts and has taken off like wild fire through the Home Free fandom.  Recapping it in a blog just wouldn’t be as good as telling you to once again make your way to YouTube and track down a clip of this story. (Besides, there are some actions involved you need to see Tim act out…trust me!)
This picture goes along with the Barnacle Penis story---seriously, just find the video :)

As in the past, the audience was blessed with the lovely music of Tim’s wife Jenika.

Members of her family including her sister Luisa, brothers Christopher and Bryce, and even her dad Jon also joined in throughout the night. This family has to be the most talented family I have ever seen. At one point Luisa and Christopher performed a fiddle duet that completely blew me away. I didn’t want it to end it was so fascinating.

Other performers that made an appearance to help Tim celebrate were his good friend and former bandmate Chris Chatham, country singer/songwriter Tiera, Armand Hutton from the acapella group Street Corner Symphony, Donnie Reis (who helped write Home Free’s original song “Remember This” along with Tim and Chris), Nathan Rodes-the face of Home Free merch and VIPs who also happens to be a talented musician himself, and acapella singer Chad Bahr.

Another artist I was excited to see make an appearance was Nashville singer/songwriter Jeffrey East. Jeffrey opened for Home Free in Europe last year making many fans along the way who have been raving about him all over social media. A Euro fan, Dagmar, was kind enough to send me an autographed copy of Jeffrey’s CD, so I was familiar with his music prior to his performance. Prior to the Bash, I had the opportunity to meet Jeffrey at Home Free’s Dive Bar Saints Listening Session during CMAFest and found out on top of being a gifted musician; he is also such a sweet, genuine human being. I am looking forward to seeing him perform again next week at Home Free’s Drive Bar Saints Album Release show.

Not to be outdone by his guest musicians, Tim wowed the fans by sitting down and playing the piano. As a member of an acapella band you can imagine the rare delight this moment was for his fans.

For me, the show was the best I had been to. I previously attended two other Birthday Bashes, missing the 2nd one, and this one in my opinion had the best songs and variety and the time flew by in what felt like two minutes and not two hours.

Watch for this original piece of artwork to be auctioned off soon!

The night ended with a VIP after party with drinks, music, socializing, and some one-on-one time with Tim for the fans that were able to attend. I highly recommend attending at least one of Tim's Bashes if you have the opportunity to do so. You won't regret it!

For me personally, along with an incredible show, the night was filled with some of my favorite people. I couldn’t ask for a better trip, to one of my favorite places to visit, when it includes people with some of the most beautiful hearts on the planet. (I can’t speak for other planets, so I will leave it at this planet because I don’t want to offend the beings we haven’t had the pleasure of discovering yet!).

As always, thank you for taking time to check out my blog.

  1. The table fire has me laughing to the point of tears! In my defense I couldn't blow, I was laughing to hard.😂
I love when you visit Nashville, just makes me sad visits are so short.❤

I’ve been to 2 other concerts for Home Free and I’m completely in love with all of them! However, Tim is by far my favorite!!! Next year I will definitely step up my game and be there again, this time enjoying the VIP experiences! Thanks for sharing all of this!!
